Maryville Junior High School is a public middle school in Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee. The school, founded in 1956, teaches 776 students in grades eight and nine, having changed from housing grades seven and eight at the beginning of the 2012-13 school year. As of the 2015-16 school year, the school principal is Lisa McGinley. The school mascot is the Rebels. The school's motto is "make it a great day or not, the choice is yours," as well as the motto for the 2013-14 school year, "we are responsible for the energy we create." Demographically, the school is 93% Caucasian, 3% African American, 2% Asian, and the remainder Hispanic, Native American and Pacific Islander. () One quarter of the school is eligible for free or reduced lunches. Elective subjects offered at the school include Art, Shop, Drama, Chorus, Band, Orchestra, Learning Labs, Intervention and Reading, Yearbook, and Newspaper. Some of the after school clubs and activities that are offered include Bass Club, Broadcast Club (FYI Club), Builders Club, Art Club, Junior Beta, Wind Ensemble, and boys and girls sports.
